Welcome to the Red Devon
Join us at The Moviehouse
On Saturday April 12, 4:30-7:30pm
48 Main Street, Millerton NY
The upcoming exhibition features the exquisite and deeply moving images of photographer Francesco Mastalia.
To create these images, Mastalia embarked upon a 17,000-mile journey through the Hudson Valley, and photographed over
100 of its farmers and chefs.
This exhibition includes 36 of these images
along with a personal narrative by each subject, including eight farmers and chefs from the immediate Millerton area.
and Chef Sara is one of them!
"Supporting local farmers, especially those who practice sustainable agriculture, is, bottom-line, the mission of the Red Devon. We believe the best food in the neighborhood is also grown in the neighborhood" – Julia Widdowson, Owner
The Red Devon Market, Café, Bar and Restaurant has become a farm-to-table destination in the Hudson Valley. The owners, Julia and Nigel Widdowson, believe that supporting local agriculture builds a healthier local economy while ensuring the freshest, most delicious food for their customers. And Chef Sara Lukasiewicz makes it all in house — from ketchup to croissants to pasta and pâté.
Red Devon is in Bangall, a hamlet south of Stanfordville, at a site that many will remember as the former home of the James Cagney's Stage Stop Steakhouse. Transformed by a green rehab, it’s now a market/café serving breakfast, lunch, and delicious takeout food, a fabulous bar, and a lovely main dining room open for dinner. Outdoor dining on the beautiful terrace is available in the summer.
While the Red Devon is off the beaten path, we are truly 20 minutes or less from many surrounding towns and well worth the drive through the beautiful countryside!
“From the rooftop solar hot-water system to the variable volume kitchen exhaust to the spoons crafted from potato starch, this is the green go-to for getting fantastically fresh food — in an environment that is serious about progressive environmental and agricultural change.” – Hudson Valley Magazine
