Welcome to the Red Devon Market and Cafe
"Supporting local farmers, especially those who practice sustainable agriculture, is, bottom-line, the mission of the Red Devon. We believe the best food in the neighborhood is also grown in the neighborhood" – Julia Widdowson, Owner
The Red Devon Market and Café is one of the top farm-to-table destinations in the Hudson Valley. The owners, Julia and Nigel Widdowson, believe that supporting local agriculture builds a healthier local economy while ensuring the freshest, most delicious food for their customers. And it's all made in house — from ketchup to croissants.
Red Devon serves breakfast and lunch as well as delicious take out food. Outdoor dining on the terrace and porch is available in the summer. The bar will be opening in the spring of 2015 with bar food!
Located in the charming hamlet of Bangall just south of Stanfordville, Red Devon is at a site that many will remember as the former home of the James Cagney's Stage Stop Steakhouse. Many of the Hudson Valley’s top tourist destinations, including Wethersfield Gardens, Innisfree Gardens, Millbrook Winery, summer horse trials and festivals including Fitch’s Corner and the prestigious Cary Institute for Ecosystem Studies to name a few. Plan your trip and enjoy the drive through the beautiful countryside to our scenic stop!
“From the rooftop solar hot-water system to the variable volume kitchen exhaust to the spoons crafted from potato starch, this is the green go-to for getting fantastically fresh food — in an environment that is serious about progressive environmental and agricultural change.” – Hudson Valley Magazine
